‘The Diversity Student Council is a group of students who are committed to promoting equity and diversity in our school. Our group is passionate about acknowledging shared experiences amongst all peoples, while making our school a welcoming space where everyone feels respected, heard, and empowered to be part of our school community. Passionate about social justice and making the world a better place, our council will be responsible for planning multiple events throughout the school year that celebrates the diversity of students and teachers in our schools - some cultural events that we are working on recognizing include (but are not limited to) Orange Shirt Day/National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Write for Rights Campaign, Black History Month, Asian Heritage Month, Pride Month, the Moose Hide Campaign and Red Dress Project, as well as several 'Ted Talk' style presentations and film screenings. If you are interested in joining our council and promoting equity and inclusion in our community, please come join us! Everyone is welcome!’
