Advanced Placement (A.P.) Exam Registration
Senior level A.P. students have an opportunity to write a College Board exam in May. Please note that this message is for the families of students in Grades 11 and 12, who are taking exam level A.P. courses. Additionally, for clarification, the College Board is an organization from the United States that runs the A.P. program.
As directed by the College Board, there is an earlier exam registration deadline for Semester 1 & full year A.P. courses. In particular, students who are currently taking an exam level course, have until Thursday, October 29, to pay the fee and submit the registration form to the Business Office. (This is next Thursday!) Courses that run during the second semester (with the exception of our full year classes) will have a later deadline. The fee this year will be $150.00 CAD per exam. AP teachers recently distributed the exam registration forms in the relevant classes.
Reminder: Exam fees must be paid by Thursday, October 29. There will be a late fee applied to exam registrations & payment received after the deadline.
A.P. (College Board) Exam Accommodations
As mentioned above, students in senior level AP courses (not pre AP) will have an opportunity to write a College Board AP Exam this coming May.
Applying for accommodations is separate from what happens with Alberta Education and is quite a bit more difficult to get approval. Students are recommended to have recent psycho-educational assessments and demonstrate compelling reasons.
The application process for accommodations needs to begin well before the official final deadline. Any interested students must see Ms. Rip in room 120.
