Learning Commons at the CBE
Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.
Our Library Learning Commons
Is the hub for our school learning community and student services. It is available to all students and is for research, reading, quiet study and student service needs.
Allowing some level of noise and talking in a group facilitates collaboration as well as a degree of socializing that contributes to the appeal of the library learning commons. Students will need to observe the following expectations while using the space.
- No Food or Beverages at computer desks.
- Students are expected to work quietly and respectfully.
- Students who are being too loud and disruptive to other learners while in the library will be asked to leave.
In addition to the numerous resources available, the library also provides the following services:
- Computer printing is available in the library, each student has 50 pages allocated each year.
- Tech help for common computer issues including log-in problems, wireless access on personal devices and printing issues.
- The Library Assistant can reset your password.
- Textbook and novel sign out.
- English and French fiction and non-fiction books available for sign-out.
