Grade 12 Graduation Update

Hello Grade 12 Families, 

Our 2027 Graduation is quickly approaching. Please review some important information below:

2027 Closing Exercises Information

We are pleased to share some important information about our 2027 Closing Exercises with Grade 12 Lancer families.

Date: Monday May 31, 2027

Time: Graduates arrive at 8:00 AM.  Audience seating begins at 8:15 AM. The ceremony begins at 9:00 AM sharp.

Location: Jack Simpson Gymnasium at the University of Calgary.

Participation

To participate in the Closing Exercises at Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School students will:

  • Be enrolled in grade 12
  • Pay the grad fee – will be in PowerSchool when finalized
  • Order a graduation gown – will begin in December
  • Be at the Jack Simpson Gym on the University of Calgary on Monday May 31  at 8:00 AM

Participation in the Closing Exercises is optional, but we would love for all students to be there to celebrate this achievement.

Tickets: Free. Up to 3 tickets will be distributed to students with their grad gown and other accessories during the rehearsal on May 25, 2027. Additional tickets will be available on May 26 -28 at a rate of 2 tickets per student per day until venue capacity is reached. 

2027 Graduation Banquet

Date: Monday May 31st, 2027

Time: Doors open at 6:00 PM. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM. Dance concludes at 11:00 PM

Location: Event Centre at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino

The evening will consist of dinner, a formal program of speeches, and a dance.  The dress code is formal. The evening is entirely optional. 

Tickets: All school fees must be paid before banquet tickets can be purchased. Cost will be finalized when the menu costs are determined and communicated to students. Tickets will be sold online shortly after the Graduation Information meeting that will occur during homeroom on Friday, April 9th. Exact date and time will be communicated when finalized. Seating will be in tables of 10 people, and purchasers will need to select table and seat. The tickets will be sold until we reach the venue’s capacity (approximately 1000).
