Bonjour, ¡Hola! 你好 and welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!

We’ve had a fantastic start, and we truly believe this year will be our best yet! Our students have already been involved in a variety of exciting activities. Thanks to expanded fine arts programming and the addition of another mechanics classroom in our trade’s spaces, even more students can now explore the programs they’re passionate about and need for their futures.

Our robust language programs continue to grow, with Mandarin classes now joining our strong French and Spanish offerings. At Scarlett, we’re proud to have over 400 students enrolled in French Immersion. Meanwhile, our choir, jazz, and band students are busy rehearsing for the upcoming Remembrance Day Ceremony, and our music students are gearing up for a fall trip to the Vic Lewis Music Band Festival in Canmore.

Athletics are in full swing, with many students participating in various sports, including our very own separate football team. They’ve won their first two games, and we can’t wait to see their fans cheering them on at Friday Night Lights this week! Soccer, volleyball, cross country, and swimming seasons are underway as well—we are incredibly proud of all our student athletes. Way to go, Lancers!

Our leadership students have organized numerous activities this fall to help everyone make new friends and join one of the many clubs offered here at Scarlett. Check out the full list on our website under the “Clubs” section—it’s not too late to get involved! Recently, we welcomed motivational speaker Sam Demma, who inspired the entire student body with messages about kindness, service, and overcoming self-doubt. Today, our students are proudly participating in the Terry Fox Run to raise funds for cancer research.

French Immersion students will have an exciting opportunity in November to work with Mat Mailandt from La Comédie Pense Vite during their FLA 10 classes. This engaging and fun experience will help strengthen their spoken French skills. We look forward to welcoming Mat to Scarlett soon.

As October rolls in and the seasons change, we hope everyone enjoys this beautiful time of year. We’re thrilled with the recent updates to our school—including a new roof installed last year and three new classrooms built over the summer. Looking ahead, we’re excited to be on the list for brand-new modular classrooms this summer.

Scarlett is an exceptional school within a wonderful community. It’s an honor to serve as your Principal in a school that values strong academics, excellent trade opportunities, vibrant language programs, fine arts, athletics, and student leadership. Our growing robotic club, Math, English, Social and Science classes are among the best, and our dedicated teachers are experts in their fields who are always eager to learn and grow. Scarlett truly is a fantastic place to be.

Here’s to an amazing year ahead!
