Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have had a lot of activities this week. Our rugby, soccer and field hockey teams have been having a great season so far. Please come out to cheer them on. Information can be found on our athletic page on our website. Go Lancers!
This weekend we had a strong turn out of people dropping off E-Recycling. Thanks to our Chair of Council Mary Downey for organizing and our parent volunteers Saturday, Shera Peggs, David Adie, Leanne Schulz and Lori Vander Werf. Thank you for the time you took to support our students at Scarlett. Thank you to all the families who donated and spread the word. We collected over 1000 lbs of e-recycling. It looks like we had a really good haul of items that will result in funds for the school. All funds raised will go back to supporting student activities at the school.
Badminton Update
We have completed the divisional and city tournaments, playing some difficult opponents. Please congratulate Jaiyuan Z and Lucas Y, who achieved bronze, as well as Thu N and Kiran D. Jaitai Z achieved gold, Anna W and Flora F finished with silver as well as Anaya S. The four students achieving gold or silver competed in zones and made provincials. We are cheering for you all! A huge thank you to our badminton coaches Mme. Costa and Mrs. Threadkell for your commitment and support of our athletes. Go Lancers at Provincials!

Archaeology Experience at Scarlett
This last Wednesday we were pleased to have Allie Bradford and Zoe Cascaden-Jassal from the University of Calgary’s Department of Anthropology and Archaeology here at Dr. E.P. Scarlett to provide some hands-on experiences for our Social 10 students. Allie and Zoe are graduate students who kindly took time from their studies to teach our Grade 10 students about what archaeology is, as well as how archaeology works in partnership with Alberta’s Indigenous communities. The highlight of the day was definitely the whole bison skeleton that they brought for our students to practice reassembling! Thank you Allie and Zoe for your visit.
