Dear Parents and Guardians,
We had a wonderful winter concert last week at the Bella Theatre at Mount Royal University. We would like to congratulate all our music students for their dedication, hard work and teamwork in performing many memorable numbers of music on Thursday evening. The music was wonderful! We also would like to thank our Band Director Paul Brown and our Choir and Jazz Director Martijn van Galen for their excellent leadership of our music program. We could not do it without our parents on the Band Association. We want to say a big thank you to our parents on the Association who support our students and teachers!
Semester 2 Course Request Change Deadline
Over the past couple of months, the Student Services team has been actively meeting with students to make Semester 2 schedule changes. As we draw close to the winter holiday, we ask that any remaining requests for changes be submitted by January 7, 2026.
Due to the high volume of requests, we are shifting to an online Course Change form. We are asking that any remaining course change requests be submitted through the form below.

Student Leadership Initiatives
Helping Hampers officially kicked off on Thursday November 13th and are extending the donation deadline to December 3rd. This is one of Scarlett’s largest and most important fundraisers. All donated money will be put towards building hampers of essential house-hold items, clothing, gifts, and gifts cards for families in need, right in our school community. Students can donate in their Period 1 classes. With every $2 donated, students will be eligible to win some really awesome prizes, including the grand prize of a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Let’s rally to ensure these families have what they need over the winter months. Thank you for your support.
As another cool incentive to collect donations for the Helping Hampers fundraiser, Leadership is putting on a super fun event where students will have the opportunity to tattoo their teachers! Don't worry - they are temporary tattoos! From Monday November 24th - Wednesday December 3rd, students can purchase various temporary tattoo(s) (sizes and designs) and assign them to teacher(s) of their choice. On Friday December 5th teachers must wear their temporary tattoos all day. All proceeds generated by this event will go directly to our Helping Hampers families. Have fun!
Scarlett Leadership is looking to revive the Menstrual Movement initiative. The purpose of this project is to end the stigma surrounding periods, provide education for alternate products such as menstrual cups, period under wear and sustainable pads and tampons. In addition we are hoping to provide free products in bathrooms. If you would like to make a donation of pads or tampons, there is a red box located in the main office for donation drop off. Thank you for your support.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
If you have a question for your teacher still, please know that you can reach out to teachers by emailing them at any time throughout the semester. A staff contact list is on Our Staff page.
School Fees
Please check your MyCBE account on a regular basis to ensure your fees are paid up to date including fees from previous school years and CBE schools. Full payment of all fees is required for students to participate in optional school activities, i.e. athletics, optional trips and the graduation banquet & dance.
Student Lockers
All students who registered for a locker have received their locker information. If there were delays or issues with registrations, students were contacted directly. Students who registered more than one week ago and have yet not received an email from the business office can send an email to Ms. Popp, Business Manager at kedpopp@cbe.ab.ca. Please do not register a second time as duplicate can create significant delays with the locker assignments. If students are having issues or difficulties opening their locker, they can reply to the email that was sent to them with their locker information stating the exact issue and Ms. Popp will provide assistance as soon as possible.
We have some unassigned lockers on the second floor where math, languages and art classes are held. If students are sharing a locker with another student and wish to have their own locker, Ms. Popp can assign one which will be located on the second floor. If they wish to do so, they can send Ms. Popp an email directly to kedpopp@cbe.ab.ca.
