20 Last Day of School before Winter Break

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Please find the weekly email below. Congratulations to all the students who participated in 33 Neo-Futurist Plays from Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. What an experience for the audience with such a rapid fire collection of plays that changed each night. The actors, lights, sound, stage crew, clothing designers, hosts and students who helped with stage set up played an instrumental role. We truly appreciate each of you and our audience who joined us each night. Thanks to our drama instructors Mr. Owen Chan and Mr. Erik Hohmann. We truly appreciate how you inspire our students in the performing arts!

Student Leadership Update

Helping Hampers officially kicked off on Monday December 2 and will run until December 16. This is one of Scarlett’s largest and most important fundraisers. This year all donated money will be put towards building hampers of essential house-hold items, gifts, and gifts cards for 9 families in need, right in our school community. Students can donate in their Period 1 classes. With every $2 donated, students will be eligible to win some awesome prizes, including the grand prize of a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Let’s rally to ensure these families have what they need over the winter months. Thank you for your support.

Lost and Found and Locker Clean Out

Students, are you missing a jacket, hoodie, water bottle or more? Please come have a look through the lost and found. You will find it beside the vending machines outside of the cafeteria. Don’t be cold and thirsty this winter break. Pick up your lost items today! We will be holding a locker clean out on Friday December 20. Take your items home that you might need over the break and remove any garbage from your locker to keep our school clean.

Student Services Updates

Semester Two Online Courses

Student may now request a course for Semester Two with CBe-learn using the Semester Two CBe-learn Course Request Form. Counsellors will enroll students in January once the referral software opens for concurrent registrations. Students will receive a confirmation email regarding their successful enrollment and instructions for next steps by late-January. Students should consult the CBe-learn concurrent student information page for more information prior to completing the request form. All course offerings are subject to availability.

Semester Two Course Change Requests

Students may fill out the Semester Two Course Change Request form if they are wishing to add or drop classes. This form will be open until January 17 at noon. After this, counsellors will work on balancing courses to ensure the smallest class sizes possible. Please note the following conditions:

  • We are unable to process changes based on teacher, period, peer or spare preferences.
  • All schedules are subject to change up until the first day of classes. As such, the teacher assigned may change as class balancing and teaching assignments change.
  • If students request a course they have not been recommended for, the counsellor will reach out with a Going Against Recommendation form.
