SAIT World of Choices – Friday, March 14, 2025
It's not often we get the chance to sit down with someone in the profession we dream of getting into. How might your life change if you could?
World of Choices will bring students together with Career Mentors in their desired fields and give them the opportunity to talk with others in professions they’d never considered before. Five sessions, small tables, an afternoon that will open a world of choices to Alberta's youth.
Please express interest in attending this event by completing this form as soon as possible. Space is limited. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.
Scarlett Music AIBF Performances
Our students are performing in the Alberta International Band Festival (AIBF). This is open to the public and our families. We hope you join us! On Monday, February 24 our Wind Ensemble will be performing. On Tuesday February 25 our Symphonic Band will be performing in the morning. We are incredibly proud of our students! We hope you enjoy the experience of performing with so many other schools. A huge thank you to Mr. Paul Brown and Mr. Kevin Willms for your leadership!
2025-26 Course Selection Support
On Thursday, February 20, Student Services held a lunch n’ learn for grade 10 and 11 students in the Learning Commons to support students in selecting classes for next year.
We encourage all students to discuss with their parents/guardians to select courses in line with graduation requirements and post-secondary goals. There is a copy of our February 7 livestream available on D2L that students can access to support with this process. To assist with career exploration, MyBlueprint is a valuable program available to all CBE students, accessible with school log-in credentials.
Student Services will also be available all day on Monday, March 3 on a drop-in basis to answer questions. Due to high demand, we are unable to accommodate individual appointments regarding this process. The Course Selection deadline has been extended to 11:59pm on Wednesday March 5.
Update from Student Leadership
On Wednesday February 26, we are encouraging students and staff to wear pink to show their support for a safe and caring school. The first 200 students through the doors on the Feb. 26 wearing pink will receive a fun Pink Shirt Day themed treat!

Alberta Education Assurance Survey Open Online Feb. 18 – March 21
Every school year, Alberta Education surveys students, parents, and teachers to get feedback on schools. This helps us understand what’s working well and identify areas for improvement.
The Alberta Education Assurance Survey (AEAS) asks students in Grades 4, 7, and 10, along with their parents, to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in school.
Don’t miss this chance to have your voice heard! The AEAS is open from Feb. 18 to March 21, 2025.
Parents of grade 10 students will see information sent out shortly and we encourage all our grade 10 student families to respond.
Please see link for more details: Have Your Say! Share Your Thoughts on Alberta Schools for Students in Grades 4, 7 and 10 - Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School

February is Black History Month
Each February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and celebrations that honour the legacy and contributions of Black people in Canada and their communities.
The 2025 theme for Black History Month is: “Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations.” This theme acknowledges the diversity of Black Canadians, the importance of Black leadership and the legacy being built for future generations.
Our Student Diversity Council put together a bulletin board, a display case and Instagram posts highlighting contributions of Black Canadians. As well, they hosted a screening of the film, 'Hidden Figures' over 2 lunch periods. During the last week of BHM (next week) they are running a BHM trivia Bingo around the school, with prizes for those who complete it.
March - Ramadan and Eid
For Ramadan (which begins on Feb. 28), our Student Diversity Council are planning bulletin boards and Instagram posts, a craft table. They will also highlight other days of recognition during the month of March such as International Women's Day, Nowruz and Holi.
