January Schedule
The Alberta Government has cancelled January Diploma sittings, and in response, the Calgary Board of Education has adjusted January timelines to ensure continued learning. Students will be in classes January 5-23 during regular school hours. Attendance is expected and will be taken. During this time, teachers will be working with students to teach curricular outcomes and complete any final projects and assessments.
Please note, there is a longer block schedule on January 7 and 8, as planned, to accommodate the need for any longer final assessments and projects:
- January 7: P1 (8:55-11:51) P3 (12:34-3:30)
- January 8: P2 (8:55-11:51) P4 (12:34-3:30)
January 5-23
- Regular classes continue as scheduled. Students are expected to attend. Attendance will be taken during each class block in which students are scheduled.
- Teachers provide targeted opportunities for continued learning and assessment.
- No final exams for Grades 10, 11 or 12 courses will be scheduled outside of regular class time.
- Note | January 23 is the last day of NEW instruction.
January 23
The last day of regularly scheduled high school classes, including Specialized Classes (such as the TASC classroom).
January 26-27
- Teachers may invite students in to gather additional evidence of student understanding and extend learning of previously taught concepts. If your student is coming in for this, the teacher will speak to the student directly.
- No final exams for Grades 10, 11 or 12 courses will be scheduled outside of regular class time.
If you have any questions about diploma exams, please reach out to our Assistant Principal Kate Malayko kgmalayko@cbe.ab.ca.
Drama Production
We would like to thank all students involved in the school play Twelfth Night. Their leadership, creativity, flexibility, and outstanding performances were truly inspiring. The dedication shown by actors, the assistant director, the technical director, technical crew, lighting, stage management, costume, props, set, and sound teams was exceptional. What great evenings showcasing such talent!
A special thank you to Mr. Owen Chan, Drama Director, for his continued development of our program, and to Ms. Erin Crealock for her invaluable support of the technical teams.
French Café
Thank you to Ms. Mylène Simard in French Immersion for organizing a wonderful French Café experience. Students enjoyed delicious treats, music, and time together while celebrating French language and culture.
