Textbooks, Novels & Loaned Materials

Thank you to all those students and parents who have returned textbooks, novels and loaned materials from semester one of the school year and previous school years.  There are still many of those loaned materials that have not yet been returned to the school.  The replacement cost of semester one materials were added to PowerSchool accounts in February, 2025.  Parents/guardians, please log into your PowerSchool account and check to ensure your student has returned those materials to the school. If those materials were lost or damaged, full payment is required.  If your student is still using any of those materials, they need to go and see Mrs. Miller, our Library Assistant to have them renewed to June of this year.  Overdue items can also be returned to Mrs. Miller where she will scan the textbooks/novels back into the system and they will automatically be removed from PowerSchool accounts.  Thank you for your attention in this matter.

DELF Exam Prep Sessions

An email went out to all students who registered for the DELF Exam. The exam falls very quickly after March Break, April 7 and as a result I am proposing March 17 and March 18 at 8am in Room 123 for our preparation sessions. These sessions will include preparation material and an overview of the exam to maximize success. The sessions are not obligatory, if students would simply like the prep materials, they are welcome to stop by Room 123 in the mornings on those two days for the review booklet. Students will be excused from all classes on that day for the exam and should check in with their teachers for any missing work/assignments. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to: Ms. Costa at nahumenjuk@cbe.ab.ca

Parent-Teacher Conferences

On March 20 and 21 we will be holding our Term 3 School Conferences to give you and your child(ren) an opportunity to speak with teachers about their learning. Please note, this semester, both the Thursday and Friday conferences will be held online.

The schedule for our conferences is as follows:

  • Thursday, March 20 – 5:00 PM -7:30 PM – Online via TEAMS
  • Friday, March 21st – 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM – Online via TEAMS

The booking system for families is open until March 18th at 7:00 PM.

You can access the booking tool through your myCBE account and going into your myCBE Apps. After you have accessed the booking system you will be able to select the appropriate teachers and times that work for you. Please be sure to only book with your child’s Term 3 teachers. When booking, please also make sure to choose the correct conference: Thursday or Friday.

Once you have booked your appointments you will receive confirmation emails which will also include links to join the online meetings. It may take up to 24 hours to receive the link for the online meeting.

For this semester's online conferences, please use the link sent to the email address on file with the school to enter the online conferences to meet with the teachers at your designated time. When prompted, please enter your name as it appears in the student’s information at the school. The teacher will be alerted that you are in the virtual lobby for the meeting and will admit you when your booking time begins or when they finish their previous meeting. Please note that if you are a CBE staff member, you will not wait in a meeting lobby but go right into the meeting room; be cautious not to enter early while another Conference is in session.

If you are looking to book with Mr. Donovan (for IPPs) or with Ms. Fair, please be sure to use that specific booking tab.

We have several teachers away on our school's Europe Trip, and they will be unavailable for conferences. They will send an email communication to you about this. They are: Mme Olauson, Ms. Rip, Ms. McGregor, Ms. Domstad, M. Guyard and Mr. Gibbs.

If you encounter technical issues, please reach out to your designated Assistant Principal (A-G Natalie Costa; H-O Myles Gibbs; P-Z Jason Wutzke) or contact the school (403-281-3366) and we will do our best to work through any difficulties.
