Dear Parents and Guardians
Please find info below to assist you in planning for the week ahead. The Fall Break is upon us and we will see our students back on Thursday next week. We had a meaningful ceremony this year for Remembrance Day explaining to all students on the importance of Remembrance Day. We would like to thank the following students for your specific contribution: Emma L for The Acknowledgement of the Land, Roshini P for her reading of the poem In Flanders Fields, Tessa N for The Last Post and Grady C for The Reveille. All of our students in the school showed exemplary respect during the ceremony and in the moment of silence.
Canadians are encouraged to wear poppies, attend memorial services, and participate in moments of silent tribute to reflect on the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families. This weekend there will be many formal ceremonies held on November 11 that you and your family can attend. We are proud of our students and staff for their donation to the veterans when we distributed poppies this year. Thanks for your generosity that will be provided to our local legion and to support the veterans food bank. Here is a list from the City of Calgary of the ceremonies for Nov. 11: City Services: Remembrance Day 2025
Student Leadership Initiative - Helping Hampers
Helping Hampers officially kicks off on Thursday November 13th and will run until Thursday November 27. This is one of Scarlett’s largest and most important fundraisers. All donated money will be put towards building hampers of essential house-hold items, clothing, gifts, and gifts cards for families in need, right in our school community. Students can donate in their Period 1 classes. With every $2 donated, students will be eligible to win some really awesome prizes, including the grand prize of a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Let’s rally to ensure these families have what they need over the winter months. Thank you for your support.

Textbooks, Novels & Loaned Materials
There are many outstanding textbooks, novels and other loaned materials that have not yet been returned to the school from the 2024-25 school year. The cost of those materials has been added to PowerSchool accounts. Parents/guardians, please log into your account and check to ensure your student has returned those materials to the school. If those materials were lost or damaged, full payment is required. All textbooks and novels are to be returned directly to Ms. O’Bray, our Library Assistant where she will scan the textbooks/novels back into the system and they will automatically be removed from PowerSchool accounts. Please remind your student those materials should not be dropped off at the main office.
Student Lockers
All students who registered for a locker have received their locker information. If there were delays or issues with registrations, students were contacted directly. Students who registered and have not received an email from the business office can send an email to Ms. Popp, Business Manager at kedpopp@cbe.ab.ca. Please do not register a second time as duplicate registrations make the assignment process more cumbersome and can create significant delays with the locker assignments. If students are having issues or difficulties opening their locker, they can reply to the email that was sent to them with their locker information stating the exact issue and Ms. Popp will provide assistance as soon as possible.
We have some unassigned lockers on the second floor where math, languages and art classes are held. If students are sharing a locker with another student and wish to have their own locker, Ms. Popp can assign one which will be located on the second floor. If they wish to do so, they can send Ms. Popp an email directly to kedpopp@cbe.ab.ca.
