Student Leadership Initiative - Helping Hampers

Helping Hampers officially kicks off on Thursday November 13 and will run until Thursday November 27. This is one of Scarlett’s largest and most important fundraisers. All donated money will be put towards building hampers of essential house-hold items, clothing, gifts, and gifts cards for families in need, right in our school community. Students can donate in their Period 1 classes. With every $2 donated, students will be eligible to win some really awesome prizes, including the grand prize of a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Let’s rally to ensure these families have what they need over the winter months. Thank you for your support.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

On November 28 we will be holding our Term 1 School Conferences to give you and your child(ren) an opportunity to speak with teachers about their learning. The schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, November 28 – 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Online via TEAMS (times were just extended)
  • The booking system will open on Wednesday, November 19 at 9:00 AM and will remain open until November 26 at 6:00 PM.

You can access the booking tool through your MyCBE account and going into MyCBE website. After you have accessed the booking system you will be able to select the appropriate teachers and times that work for you. Please be sure to only book with your child’s Term 1 teachers.

Once you have booked your appointments you will receive confirmation emails which will also include links to joining the online meetings. It may take up to 24 hours to receive the link for the online meeting.

For online conferences, please use the link sent to the email address on file with the school to enter the online conferences to meet with the teachers at your designated time. When prompted, please enter your name as it appears in the student’s information at the school. The teacher will be alerted that you are in the virtual lobby for the meeting and will admit you when your booking time begins or when they finish their previous meeting.

Please note that if you are a CBE staff member, you will not wait in a meeting lobby but go right into the meeting room; be cautious not to enter early while another Conference is in session.

  • If you are looking to book with Mr. Donovan, Ms. Fair or Ms. Tran, please be sure to use that specific booking tab.

If you would like to reference detailed instructions for this process you can access them here.

If you encounter technical issues, please reach out to your designated Assistant Principal (A-G Kate Malayko; H-O Myles Gibbs; P-Z Jason Wutzke) or contact the school (403-281-3366) and we will do our best to work through any difficulties. If you're unable to book an appointment with your child's teacher, please know that you can reach them via email, all contact information is on our school website here.

Lancers Athletics

This week wrapped up the end of all of our fall sports.  Congratulations to all of our cross country, golf, football, volleyball and girls’ soccer athletes on outstanding seasons.  Also, a big thank you to our trainers who helped keep our athletes ready to compete.

None of our teams would be possible without our amazing coaches who dedicate countless hours beyond the bell to help our athletes compete at a high level.  A huge thank you to all of our fall sport coaches for all that you do:

Mr. Donovan, Mr. Willis, Mr. Wetsch & Mr. Lasalle – Football

Ms. Donegan, Mr. Tsang, Ms. Senebald & Mr. MacBurnie – Volleyball

Mr. Kroeker – Cross Country

Ms. Doerksen – Girls Soccer

Mr. Spooner – Golf

Also, a massive thank you to our volunteer community coaches who donate their time to improving our Lancers Athletic program.  Your dedication to Lancers Athletics is greatly appreciated!

The Junior Girls Volleyball team played their last game this week. Although the girls lost against a close competitor, it was a great season. Thanks to our student athletes, trainers, Assistant Coach Avery and head coach Ms. Donegan! We appreciate your commitment to our students and the team!

Our Junior Boys Volleyball team lost in a close quarter final match against Bishop McNally on Thursday, but had an excellent season.  A huge thank you to Head Coach Mr. Tsang for his time and dedication, as well as to the team trainers.

On Senior Boys lost against Bowness in a tight match in the quarter finals Friday night.  The boys had an outstanding season and showed massive improvement throughout.  Big thank you to all of the players and trainers, and to head coach Shaun Patel, and Assistant Coaches Damian and Alex MacBurnie.

Although they did not have the chance to compete in the final City Championship race, our cross country team had a strong season with the Scarlett team finishing 8th place overall out of 31 schools in in the final race.  Special shout out to Joel Risbud for finishing in the Top 10 in the Intermediate category.  A big thank you to Mr. Kroeker for his time and dedication as head coach this season.
