We are looking forward to next week. Our music students will be going to Camp Kindle and our robotics students just finished a robotics competition here on Saturday. Go Lancers!

On Monday, our parents are gathering for the School Council Meeting and you are welcome to join in person or online. A link will be sent out by email soon.

Advanced Placement Virtual Session (for parents of Grade 9 students)

Date: Tuesday, November 21, 2023
When: 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School will be hosting an online information session for all prospective (grade 9) students interested in our Advanced Placement program. The session will include information on the following:

  • What is Advanced Placement?
  • Benefits of taking AP
  • AP courses offered at Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School
  • Transfer processes for out of boundary students
  • Mythbusting and strategies from current AP students

Music

Our Choir and Grade 10 Band students will be heading out to Camp Kindle this week in preparation for our Winter Celebration Concert December 6 at MRU’s Bella Concert Hall.
Speaking of MRU, our Jazz students will be taking part in a Jazz Workshop day, hosted at Mount Royal University from 9-3 PM on Friday, November 24th. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event and can be dropped at the Main Entrance of the Bella Concert Hall. Lunch is NOT provided, so please pack something to help keep hydrated and nourished.

Robotics Competition

Dr. EP Scarlett High School proudly hosted their first FTC (First Tech Challenge) Meet on Saturday, November 18.

Up to 26 teams of grade 7 to 12 students set up their pits in the school’s cafeteria and competed in matches in the main gym throughout the day. Thanks to our parents for your support and Mr. Michaud & Ms. Wiebe for being our teacher coaches!

Fun Lunch

Thanks to our parents for organizing this for students. This is an optional service for families and the decision to participate is up to each family. We have not reviewed the health standards at each restaurant so we encourage families to make an informed choice.
