We will be distributing poppies next week for Remembrance Day and will encourage students to donate to our Veterans next week on Friday.

Football practices have resumed, and volleyball practices will start up again on Monday. Information regarding games for these sports, as well as updates on soccer, cross country, swimming and wrestling will be available soon. Career Centre Updates

Unique Pathways

Unique Pathways is now accepting applications…...Deadline Nov 14

CBE collaborates with post-secondary institutions, industry partners and community organizations to offer a wide-range of unique opportunities for students. These range from practical, hands-on learning experiences in Exploratory programs to Dual Credit courses and programs that allow students to participate in post-secondary learning with the support of a supervising CBE teacher. These programs allow students to complete high school their own way, and set students up for future success by easing the transition to post-secondary learning and/or the workplace.

Unique Pathways Information Night (in person)

Wednesday November 5, 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Career and Technology Centre (CTC). 2336-53 Ave SW, Calgary AB

Language Course Challenge Update

We are pleased to confirm that we are moving forward with the following dates for the Fall Language Course Challenge:

  • Part 1 Portfolio Exam: November 29, 2025
  • Part 2 Exam: December 13, 2025

In the next couple of days, students will receive an email confirming their registration for the Language Course Challenge. This email will share the date changes and provide them with details about how to prepare for the Part 1 Portfolio and where to go the day of the exam.

Any students who have sent in their registration form but are no longer interested in challenging this fall, please let us know as soon as possible.  Adjustments will need to be made for examiners and supervisor ratios.

Japanese Yamate Exchange

We are still accepting applications for the 2025/26 Yamate Japanese Exchange Trip! This opportunity is only offered to Scarlett students once every three years—so don’t miss your chance. Watch this video to get a sense of the experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sErXSjCS3Vw.

As part of the exchange, two Japanese students from Yokohama will stay in your home during the last two weeks of April. Then, in the last two weeks of July, a pair of Calgary students will stay in a Japanese student’s home. This is a cultural exchange focused on friendship, learning, and shared experiences, and no Japanese language proficiency is required. It’s a truly unique and amazing opportunity!
