Casino Volunteers Needed
We cannot run the casino without our dedicated volunteers. Looking for volunteers! See link attached: Learn more about the Casino Fundraiser.
This is a great way to bring in funds for our school and we often raise around $65,000 or more. We require volunteers at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino for Tuesday November 12 and Wednesday November 13 for daytime and evening shifts. You will receive all the training you need when you arrive and you will find volunteering at the casino both fun and rewarding. Day shifts are between 10am-7pm, evening shifts are between 6:45 pm and 3:45 am or 11 pm and 3:45 am (count room positions only). You can sign up for multiple shifts, but they have to be the same position; you cannot be banker one day and chip runner another, but you could be banker both days.
Timelines are tight and anyone who works in the casino must be cleared by AGLC first.
The link to signup is here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0A44AEAC22ABF94-epscarlett Any required paperwork will be sent to you to fill out. If you have any questions please contact epscasino@gmail.com

Message from School
Drama News
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming school production, 30 Neo-Futurist Plays from Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes) by Greg Allen.
Rehearsals have been in full swing for the past month, and we couldn't be prouder of our incredible cast. They've been working tirelessly to bring each of these unique plays to life, showcasing their creativity and dedication.
Our talented technical teams are also hard at work behind the scenes, piecing together the visual and auditory world of the show. Their attention to detail and passion for creating the perfect atmosphere have been essential in bringing the production to life.
Mark your calendars for December 4, 5, 9, 11, & 12 at 7:00pm! We can’t wait to share this dynamic and one-of-a-kind performance with you. We hope to see you there!
Would your Child like a Photo Retake?
Lifetouch will be back at the school on October 28 for photo retakes.
Remembrance Day Planning
We are looking for the help of student cadets at our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Please reach out to Mr. Hawboldt (arhawboldt@cbe.ab.ca) to express your interest in helping out.
As Remembrance Day approaches, we are looking to include students' voices in our ceremony. In D2L, there is a shell called Remembrance Day 2024 where students can answer 3 questions in a few sentences or paragraphs. Please ask your student to take some time and complete the "quiz." Please complete this by Thursday, October 24th.
Halloween Events
Halloween events are around the corner! Oct 28 – 31 students have the opportunity to take a tour through the Scarlett Haunted House! The entry fee for the Haunted House is a donation of new or gently used clean socks for Socktober fundraiser or 1 dollar. All sock donations will go to the Calgary Drop-in Centre. *Warning* the haunted house will contain mature themes, jump scares, a strobe light and fog machine. If students have a sensitivity to flashing lights, they can request to have it turned off for their tour.
There will be a costume contest on Thurs. Oct 31 at the lunch and in the theatre. Students have the option to take part in the contest by registering using the QR Code below, or they may choose to be an audience member and vote on their favorite costumes!
Please note that costumes must be done in a way that promotes safety for others. For instance:
- They must be culturally appropriate
- No reference to violence or weapons
- No masks (except for those in the contest who can use them only in the contest once their identity has been confirmed)
