Students who are registered in a 30-level Advanced Placement course (or Physics 20AP) this semester must register for AP exams and submit payment by October 30. Students interested in writing an “Exam-Only” or self-study AP exam need to contact Ms. Rip directly and complete the same registration process.
Each exam costs $160 CAD. After the form is completed, the exam fees will be added to students’ PowerSchool accounts and will need to be paid by October 30. Please also ensure that you have enrolled in your class’ AP Classroom, using your teacher’s join code.
Late registration and payments will incur an additional charge (see form for details).
Note that this only applies to students CURRENTLY taking an exam-level AP course (not a grade 10/11 “AP-Cohort course). These include: English 30AP, Biology 20/30 AP, Chemistry 20/30 AP, Chemistry 30/35AP, Physics 20AP, Social Studies 30AP, Art 30AP, Spanish 30AP and AP Computer Science Principles. Textbooks, Novels & Loaned Materials
Thank you to all those students and parents that have returned textbooks, novels and loaned materials since classes commenced at the end of August. There are still many of those loaned materials that have not yet been returned to the school from 2023-24 and previous school years. The replacement cost of those materials was added to PowerSchool accounts in June, 2024. Parents/guardians, please log into your PowerSchool account and check to ensure your student has returned those materials to the school. If those materials were lost or damaged, full payment is required. All textbooks and novels are to be returned directly to Mrs. Miller, our Library Assistant between 8:30 am and 11:30 am M-T and 8:30 am to 2:00 pm Fridays. Mrs. Miller will scan the textbooks/novels back into the system and they will automatically be removed from PowerSchool accounts. Please note those materials are no longer being accepted at the main office.
Student Lockers
All students who registered for a locker up to September 30, 2024 have been sent their locker information to the email indicated on the registration form. If students have registered for a locker by September 30 and have not received their locker information, they can send an email to Ms. Popp, our Business Manager at kedpopp@cbe.ab.ca. Please do not register a second time as duplicate registrations make the assignment process more cumbersome and can create significant delays with the locker assignments. If students are having issues or difficulties opening their locker, they can reply to the email that was sent to them with their locker information stating the exact issue and Ms. Popp will provide assistance as soon as possible.
Yearbook
Don’t forget to order your child’s yearbook.

Message from Parents
EP Scarlett Parent Council and Friends of Scarlet Society will be holding our Annual General Meeting on October 21 at 7 pm at the school.
We are also looking for volunteers for our upcoming Casino. This is a great way to bring in funds for our school and we often raise around $65,000 or more. We require volunteers at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino for Tuesday November 12 and Wednesday November 13 for daytime and evening shifts. You will receive all the training you need when you arrive and you will find volunteering at the casino both fun and rewarding. Day shifts are between 10am-7pm, evening shifts are between 6:45 pm and 3:45 am or 11 pm and 3:45 am (count room positions only). You can sign up for multiple shifts, but they have to be the same position; you cannot be banker one day and chip runner another, but you could be banker both days.
Timelines are tight and anyone who works in the casino must be cleared by AGLC first.
The link to sign up is here. Any required paperwork will be sent to you to fill out. If you have any questions please contact epscasino@gmail.com
We cannot run the casino without a full commitment of volunteers, and we thank you in advance for your time.
