Scarlett families,
We’ve had a wonderful fall, and the winter semester is already well underway.
This spring, our music students will be heading to Toronto for an exciting trip where they will have a chance to play with music students from eastern Canada. Our basketball teams and wrestlers have enjoyed very successful seasons so far, with three wrestlers earning medals at Provincials—an incredible achievement. Spring sports are now kicking off as well, including badminton, field hockey, rugby, soccer, and track and field. We look forward to cheering on our Lancers!
Recently, we hosted a fantastic school talent show that spanned four lunch hours and showcased the impressive talents of our students. We’re also excited for our upcoming school dance as we welcome the warmer spring weather. Academically, many of our students are challenging themselves through math and language competitions. Our math contests are organized through several post-secondary institutions, including Waterloo. Students are also participating in French and Spanish proficiency exams such as the DELF and DELE so they can get their accreditation.
Our robotics team continues to stay busy competing in various competitions, and we’re looking forward to participating in the Science Olympics this year. Additionally, our Design Studies students will be competing in the BUILD competition, where they showcase homes they have designed online. This is organized by the Calgary Homebuilders and student work is judged and showcased by architects and engineers.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and their many accomplishments.
Merci et bonne journée,
Carma Cornea
Principal
