School Designations for Southeast Calgary Non-Residential Communities
Dear parents/guardians,
As part of the Calgary Board of Education’s (CBE) 2026–2029 System Student Accommodation Plan (SSAP) and our commitment to keeping families informed, we are sharing information about school designations for future students living in Southeast Calgary non-residential communities. Historically, these communities were commercial or industrial in nature with no residential population, and therefore no assigned school boundary. These new designations will ensure consistency and a smoother registration process for families that may move into these communities in the future.
This notice outlines the school designations.

Alternative Programs
For information regarding alternative program registration, or designations to CBE programming opportunities, visit Program Options.
Transportation Options
In new and developing communities, or in non-residential areas that might not have the same level of community infrastructure, the CBE requires maintained roads, clear of obstructions for safe driving, as well as loading and unloading of students Once there is a safe path and stop location, the CBE will review adding yellow school bus stops.
The CBE provides yellow school bus transportation to students who:
- Attend their designated school, and
- Live beyond the school walk zone, and
- Are assigned to general transportation.
Registration is required for all students needing transportation to CBE designated schools.
Students registered for alternative programing, may be designated to general transportation under the congregated bus stop model or to Calgary Transit. A congregated bus stop may be beyond reasonable walking distance from a student’s home and families may need to arrange transportation to and from the stop.
Visit Busing & Transportation for information regarding transportation services, fees and walk zones.
