Dear Families
Please note that Monday is a non-instructional day with no classes. Staff will be in professional development. Tuesday is a holiday for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Wednesday is the first day back for students next week.
AP Exams
Students who wish to challenge an AP exam in May should email Mr. Brandt at dmbrandt@cbe.ab.ca Students have to be enrolled at Dr. E.P. Scarlett. The deadline to register for an exam is October 30th.
Spanish Language and Culture Advance Placement Exam Registration
Spanish 30 AP students wishing to write the Spanish Language and Culture Advance Placement exam are invited to register for the exam before October 6 in case of work disruptions.
The link and code needed for registration can be found on the Spanish 30 D2L shell. The exam will take place on May 14, 2026. Payment will be added to MyCBE and is $160.
DELF (Diplôme D'études en Langue Française)
DELF sign up time has arrived! The exam will be held on Monday November 17th. Please use the following link to sign up https://forms.office.com/r/asBJB2vai7
Students have until Friday October 3rd to sign up. There will be an information session at lunch in room 123 on Wednesday October 1st. Preparation sessions will be held at 8:15am in room 123 on October 8, 15 and 22.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
The City of Calgary will be hosting a series of events at various locations around the city on Tuesday September 30, in recognition of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Athletic Updates
It’s been an exciting week for Lancers athletics! Both the Junior Boys and Senior Boys volleyball teams earned convincing 3-0 victories over St. Martin de Porres, while our Girls soccer team battled hard with a 3-3 tie against All Saints before bouncing back with a strong 2-0 win over St. Francis.
The Cross Country team also impressed in their second meet of the season, a challenging 12km team relay, where they delivered an outstanding performance. Looking ahead, our football team takes on Father Lacombe this Friday night, and the Senior volleyball teams will be competing in the Bishop O’Byrne Sr. Volleyball Tournament this weekend.

Student Absences
When your child is absent, please call the school at 403-281-3366. Dial 1 to leave a message on our absentee line. Please provide the reason for absence and, after saying the student's name, spell the last name for the message.
This is our way of ensuring that absences have been excused by parents or guardians. We cannot accept email notice of excused absences; please provide notice over the phone only to excuse a student's absence.
Career Centre Updates
October is a very busy month for thinking about the future. Most post-secondary applications open on October 1. Several Universities will be by the school for presentations and most are holding an Open House this month. Registering and attending an open house allows students to tour campus, meet students and professors. As well as access to application support and discounts. Healthy Hunger Update
Our Healthy Hunger program raises funds for school student leadership events and activities. We’re looking for parent volunteers to help distribute orders – if you're approved as a CBE volunteer and available during the day, please sign up using this link.
