Dear Parents & Guardians,
A warm welcome to our new families and welcome back to those whose children were here last year! We send a weekly email each week to help your family prepare for the week ahead. Normally it is set to go out early Sunday morning, however, we are sending it a little earlier this week. If you need to contact any staff members, please look at our school website for contact information.
If you have friends who are parents/ guardians at Scarlett and they are not getting the weekly email, please ask them to go to the website and subscribe so they can receive communications from the school. We will share this next week at our Meet the Teacher night (info below).

Photo Day
Lifetouch will be returning to Scarlett on September 9 to photograph students who missed our picture days in August. The retakes will be on October 28.
Proofs will not be sent to Scarlett, and all picture orders will be online. Images will be available online 3-5 days after your photo day

Athletic Update
Fall athletics are up and running in full force. Next week, we will have game nights for many teams! Our Girls Volleyball teams are playing this weekend in a tournament at the UofC. Go Lancers! Be sure to visit the athletics website & calendar for all athletic information. Congratulations to our football team for a win right out of the gates at their first game against St. Mary’s! A recent graduate was in the news for soccer. Congratulations James! Calgary midfielder James McGlinchey signed to first professional contract with Cavalry FC – CTVNews

Scholarship Update and the Alex Bus
- Students may now access the online application for the Loran Scholarship at apply.loranscholar.ca Application deadline is October 16 before noon ET.
- The Alex Bus will be here beginning Tuesday Sept. 16. If you need to see someone on the Bus, your teachers have the info sheet posted in their class or simply use this link – Alex Bus Form and the attached information Community Health Bus - The Alex about this community health partner.
Walking Distance Field Trips

Are you interested in Supply Chain Management?
Bow Valley College is hosting an Energize the Future: High School Supply Chain Case Competition, taking place on October 16, 2025, at Heritage Park. This event is being hosted in collaboration with the University of Lethbridge, Supply Chain Canada, and Bow Valley College.
The competition will focus partially on the energy sector and feature interactive, team-based case simulations designed to be both educational and fun. Students will gain hands-on experience, explore real-world supply chain challenges, and learn more about career opportunities in this dynamic field.

Message from Parents
School Council & Parent Society (Friends of Scarlett)
Our school council meets regularly to advise on matters related to Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School. Our parent society (Friends of Scarlett) raises funds for the school.
All parents/guardians of current students are welcome to attend our meetings! We're planning our 2025/26 meeting schedule and will share more info soon. We are also seeking to fill the role of Vice Chair / Vice President. If you're interested, please email epscarlettschoolcouncil@gmail.com.
Healthy Hunger
This is an optional service for families and the decision to participate is up to each family. We have not reviewed the health standards at each restaurant, so we encourage families to make an informed choice.
To participate in fun lunches create an account at Healthy Hunger to register. You will be notified when new lunches are posted and be able to view up-coming lunches, place orders and pay for orders online.
