Grade 10 Parent Survey

Parents and guardians of Grade 10 students: a reminder that you would have received a separate email about the parent version of the Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Survey. If you did not receive a code, please reach out to Kate Malayko at kgmalayko@cbe.ab.ca for a new random-access code. The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to March 13, 2026. We strongly encourage you to take the time to complete this survey, as your voices, thoughts, and insights matter.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

Conferences are coming up in a couple of weeks. Conference sign-up will open for families on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 AM and will close on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:00 PM. Further information will be shared early next week via School Messenger.

Spirit Week – March 16–19

Students will have the opportunity to take part in fun activities organized by our Leadership class in preparation for Spring Break!

Scarlett's Got Talent

From March 16–19, a Talent Show will run at lunch in the main gym. We have 19 acts performing across the four lunchtimes.

Movie Night – Monday, March 16

A movie night will be hosted starting at 6:00 PM. Tickets must be purchased in advance from March 9–12 for $2 in the cafeteria at lunch.

Teacher Leprechaun Hunt – Tuesday, March 17

Over 100 "teacher leprechauns" will be hidden throughout the school. When students find one, they can bring it to the front office for a fun St. Patrick's Day themed prize!

Dress-Up Days

Students who dress up can get a ballot entry in the front foyer from 8:30–8:55 AM each day for a chance to win a Fujifilm Instax Mini Polaroid Camera!

Honour Roll

The Honour Roll for Semester 1 is now posted in the display case outside the main office. Students who would like a printed copy of their certificate must request one in person with Ms. Kinas in the main office on or before March 19. Printed certificates will be available by approximately April 6. For questions about the Honour Roll, please email Assistant Principal Jason Wutzke at jbwutzke@cbe.ab.ca.

Athletics Update

Our Junior Boys and Senior Girls basketball teams have wrapped up their seasons. Congratulations to all players for their commitment and sportsmanship, and a big thank you to coaches Ms. Birss, Mr. Davidson, and Todd Mohorich for their dedication over the past three months. We are incredibly proud of how our students played!

All spring sports tryouts and practices begin Monday, March 9. Check the online Athletics calendar for all schedules.

Track and Field – First team practice is Wednesday, March 11 from 3:45 PM in the main gym. All welcome, no experience necessary!

Best wishes to the following wrestlers representing Scarlett and Calgary at Provincials this weekend in Medicine Hat: Leighton F., Oscar H., Emmanuel I., Riley L., Eugene P., Vaughn R., and Anvi R. Unique Pathways

CBE collaborates with post-secondary institutions, industry partners, and community organizations to offer a wide range of unique opportunities for students. Practical, hands-on Exploratory programs and Dual Credit courses allow students to participate in post-secondary learning with the support of a supervising CBE teacher. Calaway Park – Now Hiring

Calaway Park is hiring Lawn Maintenance Team Members. Applicants must enjoy physical work, be focused on safety, be at least 16 years old, and hold a driver's licence. Starting wage is $17.50 per hour. Apply here.
