Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please find information below to assist with planning for the week ahead. Friday, January 23 was the final day of classes for Semester 1. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 28 with the start of Semester 2.
Please note:
- No classes for students on Monday and Tuesday, as teachers will be finalizing marks.
- No Community Express bus service on Monday and Tuesday.
- We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday.
Report Cards
PowerSchool access was turned off on January 22 to allow teachers time to finalize marks and comments. If you require an update on your child’s academic progress, please contact their teacher directly by email.
- Report cards will be available in PowerSchool on Monday, February 2.
Yearbook Deadline
February 20 is the final day to purchase a yearbook. There will be no extra copies available in June.

Textbooks
PowerSchool may show a lost or overdue textbook on your student’s account. Due to the cancellation of January exams and diplomas, the textbook return deadline has been extended to January 27.
- Once textbooks are returned, associated fees will be removed.

Student ID Cards
Semester 2 begins on January 28, and students will begin signing out textbooks and novels.
- Students must have their ID card to sign out materials.
- Replacement cards cost $5.00 and can be purchased at the Business Office.
Advanced Placement (AP) Exams
Students writing AP exams in May who have an IPP may be eligible for accommodations already in place for specific subject areas.

Lancers Athletics – Badminton Tryouts
Badminton tryouts begin next week for all grades. Please refer to the Athletics calendar on the school website for full details.

Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth – WIN / NOW Program
Welcome & Information for Newcomers (WIN) and Newcomer Orientation & Welcome (NOW) are free orientation programs for newcomer students in Grades 7–12 who arrived August 2025 or later.

- Olds College VIP Tours: Book a tour of the Olds College campus, residence, hands-on spaces and the Smart Farm. The tour may include perks from coffee to waived application fees. One-on-One admission support available. Tours take place Feb. 17-20 and Fridays in March.
- Junior Police Academy: Applications are now open for students interested in an immersive experience into the world of a Calgary police officer, covering various aspects of law enforcement. Apply now as spots fill quickly.
- CAREERS: CAREERS is an agency which aims to connect you with employers. Students can create a profile and then receive notification about employment and networking opportunities.
